"The Bugmaniac" was founded in 1998. I am a amateur ornothologist and i travelled throughout the world to observe birds. By this way and also with meeting several nature guides, i got interested in insects as well. I can assure you that once you have seen a morpho fluttering in the bright sunlight, you will get addicted as well.. I started to surf on the internet and i noticed there was a market for insects.. i could not believe it.. One year later i met a man in London who was selling insectframes on a fleemarket.. At that moment i was convinced that this was something i wanted to do myself.. and so it began..
After 10 years, my business grew from zero to a now more then 1000 customers, 100 to 200 emails each day.. I work 10 to 12 hours each day to provide the best possible service, which is not easy. I recieve thousand insects each year, checking each bug is hard work and not always possible. I rely sometimes on my dealers and collectors. If in some cases problems of quality or others occur, i never make a problem in refunding or replacing. Loyal customers know this.
We are specialized in dried insects : lepidoptera (butterflies ), coleoptera (beetles) , orthoptera (cicadas, fulgoridae, ..) and much more...
Many of my customers became friends; did some travelling with some of them. Hopefully i can make many more friends worldwide.
About myself : I was born in Brussels, 08.12.1962. I have a degree in marketing, no scientific background or degree in entomology . 2 kids.
